About Sylvie

My earliest creative memories are wrapped in mischief.

Whether it was lying on the ground scribbling on the underside of the coffee table with mom’s lipstick or using correctional fluid to “decorate” my parents’ touch-tone telephone, I’ve always loved playful mark-making.

Despite my early artistic inclinations, I did not think it feasible to pursue a career in art and design until pretty late in the game. After brief, but formative, stints in recruiting and advertising, I created my own art & stationery business in 2013. SylvieCeres Designs was mostly a side hustle while I tried to forge a career as a capital-D Designer in the corporate world. I spent several incredible years as a visual communication designer and art director for the marketing team at Blurb Books. Meanwhile, my journey with SylvieCeres Designs brought me opportunities to sell my artwork at amazing companies like Minted, West Elm, Domino Magazine, Pottery Barn Kids, Styled by Emily Henderson and more.

In 2021, I got married and changed my last name to Vo. At the same time, I found myself craving an evolution in my business. For so many years SylvieCeres had focused on creating what other people wanted (which I still find incredibly fun and rewarding!), but I also wanted the freedom to create things simply for the sake of creating them, rather than purely figuring out what might please others.

It is with this spirit of experimentation and self-expression that studio SYLVO was created. I hope my new work brings you joy, calm, and inspires child-like wonder if even for a few brief moments of your day. Thank you for the opportunity to share my work with you; you’re literally making my dreams come true and I’m so very grateful.
